Halloween Saltine Toffee is so irresistible that you’ll be looking for any excuse to whip up another batch, holiday or not!

Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers (enough to cover a baking sheet)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles or candies (e.g., candy corn, M&Ms, or Reese’s Pieces)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire surface of the baking sheet.
  • Make the Toffee: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches a boil. Let it boil for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and turns a caramel color.
  • Pour Over Crackers: Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the saltine crackers, spreading it with a spatula to cover all the crackers.
  • Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the toffee is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Add Chocolate: Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them sit for 2-3 minutes to melt, then use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly across the surface.
  • Decorate: While the chocolate is still melted, sprinkle the Halloween-themed candies and sprinkles over the top.
  • Chill and Break: Let the toffee cool completely at room temperature or place it in the refrigerator to set. Once fully set, break it into pieces and enjoy!
  • Store: Store the Halloween Saltine Toffee in an airtight container for up to a week.
